As a result of a court order, effective April 18, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s January 29, 2021 Order requiring masks on public transportation conveyances and at transportation hubs is no longer in effect. CDC continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time. These changes do not preclude a transportation operator from imposing its own face mask requirements. Please follow the guidance of your local transit agency/authority. Other coronaviruses can cause serious diseases, including severe acute respiratory syndrome and Middle East respiratory syndrome .

Orange County originally declared a state of emergency due to COVID on March 13, 2020, and extended it more than a dozen times as conditions warranted. With the overall situation improving, officials will allow the current declaration to expire as scheduled. The ISC’s new report as part of the Action Plan project on COVID-19 Outcome Scenarios, presents lessons and recommendations to assist all governments in their responses to the pandemic beyond its initial crises. MIS-C has been identified in previously healthy children younger than 21, but typically in children ages 2-17 years old who have or had COVID-19. Originally, this severe inflammatory syndrome was thought to be Kawasaki disease.

A nasal swab for an on-site antigen test produced rapid results in 15 minutes; a second swab was sent to an out-of-state laboratory for a more sensitive PCR test. Parents of students who tested positive on the rapid tests would get phone calls from the health district.
